BusinessEgypt expert hails CICPE 2023 as boon to global growth and international trade

The upcoming China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) 2023 is viewed as a beacon of hope for global growth and trade, especially given the many challenges facing the world economy, according to Abu Bakr al-Deeb, an Egyptian expert in political economy. He emphasized the importance of China’s role in the post-pandemic economic recovery, noting that the pandemic has disrupted global supply chains and hampered production. Despite this, China has achieved positive growth rates and aims to achieve faster economic growth of about 5% in 2023, with high-quality development as it continues to build momentum for economic recovery and modernization.

The CICPE 2023, to be held in Haikou, South China’s Hainan province from April 10 to 15, will feature over 3,100 brands from 65 countries and regions. The exhibition area will increase by 20% compared to the previous edition, reaching 120,000 square meters. Al-Deeb sees the expo as a platform for Chinese and foreign companies to share the opportunities offered by the Chinese market, with hundreds of companies keen to learn more about China’s large consumption market, diversified consumption requirements, and the advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Zone.

Al-Deeb also emphasized that the expo represents a significant opportunity for international companies, including those from Arab countries, to showcase their products in the world’s largest consumer market. He believes that China’s policy is based on cooperation and win-win, rejecting accusations by some countries that China wants to control the global economy, especially those of poor and developing countries. Moreover, the expo opens doors to innovation and technological development, both in China and around the world, as it welcomes any partner working with it inside or outside the Chinese market.
