The original agreement valued the business at £1.8 billion.

The divestiture of the Catalyst Technologies unit is a cornerstone of Johnson Matthey’s broader strategy to refocus its operations on clean air technologies and metal chemicals. The company has been undergoing a significant restructuring, and the successful completion of this sale is vital for its financial and strategic reset.
