Dior Men’s artistic director, Kim Jones, made a striking statement with his summer show held at the Ecole Militaire in central Paris. The futuristic setting featured a sparse environment, and as the show began, a metallic catwalk revealed an army of models rising up.
The runway presentation commenced with a blast of scratchy electronic sounds, setting the tone for the avant-garde display. As floor panels rolled back, the catwalk lit up, and models emerged slowly, filling the room in perfectly aligned rows. With a somber beat in the background, they gracefully moved off the squares and paraded around the space, showcasing Jones’ textured suits with an androgynous touch. The garments were adorned with delicate pearls and sequins, while the color palette remained subdued, predominantly featuring greys, ivory, and pastels.
Accessories played a vibrant role, providing a pop of color against the muted tones. Bright neon pink or yellow accents adorned jaunty knit caps with pompoms, small clutch handbags, and chunky loafers, adding an unexpected twist to the refined ensembles.
Among the notable attendees in the front row were fashion model Winnie Harlow, actress Demi Moore, singer Cha Eun-woo, and “Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie. Delphine Arnault, the chief executive of the LVMH-owned French fashion label, sat beside her father, Bernard Arnault, who serves as the chairman and CEO of LVMH.
Pharrell Williams, who recently showcased his debut collection at Louis Vuitton with a memorable show featuring a music performance by him and Jay-Z, was also present with his wife, Helen Lasichanh, and their son, Rocket. The audience erupted into applause as Williams expressed his amazement with a resounding “Wow!”
