This adventure, following their viral “wheelchair wedding” in Ningbo, Zhejiang province three years earlier, continues to inspire and motivate people across the globe.
Zhu’s life dramatically changed in 2009 when, at the age of 20, he was paralyzed due to acute myelitis. Around the same time, Fan faced a similar fate when a vascular tumor rupture left her with spinal damage. Despite these challenges, the pair’s paths crossed through a mutual friend, leading to a bond forged in resilience and mutual understanding.
Their relationship blossomed with shared dreams and aspirations. Zhu, moved by Fan’s desire to explore the outdoors, used his adapted car to take her on her first outdoor excursion since her disability.
