Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” Becomes Highest-Grossing Country Tour in History

LifestyleBeyoncé’s "Cowboy Carter" Becomes Highest-Grossing Country Tour in History

Beyoncé has officially made history with her “Cowboy Carter” tour, now the highest-grossing country tour of all time, generating over $400 million in revenue, according to Live Nation. The record-breaking success not only cements her status in music history but also positions her as the highest-grossing Black artist and R&B artist of all time. The 43-year-old performer also becomes the first woman and the first American artist to have two separate tours surpass the $400 million mark, a milestone that underscores her global influence and enduring popularity.

The “Cowboy Carter” tour began in April with a powerful launch in Los Angeles, where Beyoncé delivered a mix of her country-inspired tracks such as “Texas Hold ’Em” alongside fan favorites. She also shared the stage with her two daughters in several memorable performances that highlighted the personal and cultural themes of the tour.

The final stop took place in Las Vegas this past Saturday, where Beyoncé was joined onstage by her husband Jay-Z, her former group Destiny’s Child, and country artist Shaboozey, closing the tour with a sense of celebration and unity. Throughout the tour, she consistently paid tribute to Black American contributions to country music—a central theme of her Cowboy Carter album. Several artists who embody this legacy are featured on the record, emphasizing her commitment to honoring a tradition often overlooked in the mainstream country scene.

Despite her Texas roots, Beyoncé has spoken about feeling unwelcome in the genre. Her performance at the 2016 Country Music Association Awards sparked controversy and racist backlash, with critics claiming her music didn’t belong in the country category. However, her recent win at the 2025 Grammy Awards for Best Country Album marked a historic moment, as she became the first Black woman to receive that honor.

The tour spanned 32 sold-out stadium shows across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Its massive success adds another defining chapter to Beyoncé’s career, even as other major artists like Taylor Swift break global records. Swift’s Eras Tour, for comparison, grossed over $2 billion, but Beyoncé’s achievement is no less significant, especially in reshaping what country music looks and sounds like in 2025.
