Geely’s premium electric brand, Zeekr, has announced that its MPV, the Zeekr 009, will serve as the official vehicle of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, which begins in September. The all-electric MPV will be the shuttle vehicle for members of the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, and renowned athletes during the games.
The Zeekr 009 is the second model of the brand, and it is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture. It is powered by CATL’s Qilin 3.0 batteries, providing the model with an impressive range of 822 kilometers on a single charge. Zeekr has already started delivering the 009 earlier this year, and it expects its delivery numbers to double in 2023, following last year’s sales of over 71,000 units.
With this announcement, Zeekr will have an opportunity to showcase its brand and technology during the international event, positioning itself as a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in the Chinese market. As the Chinese government continues to push for the adoption of clean energy and reduce carbon emissions, Zeekr’s all-electric vehicles are expected to play a crucial role in the country’s transportation industry.
