Accenture Supercharges AI Ambitions with Faculty Acquisition and New CTO Appointment

BusinessAccenture Supercharges AI Ambitions with Faculty Acquisition and New CTO Appointment

Accenture has finalized its acquisition of Faculty, a renowned UK-based artificial intelligence (AI) company, marking a major step forward in its mission to lead in AI innovation and implementation. As part of the merger, Faculty’s co-founder and CEO, Dr. Marc Warner, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer of Accenture, taking a seat on the company’s Global Management Committee.

The acquisition of Faculty significantly boosts Accenture’s capabilities in cutting-edge AI, safety, and transformation services. Established in 2014, Faculty has carved out a global reputation for developing and deploying high-performance AI systems for both public and private sector organizations. Notably, the company was instrumental in creating the UK’s National Health Service Early Warning System during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faculty’s flagship enterprise decision intelligence platform, Frontier, will now join Accenture’s suite of AI-powered products, enhancing clients’ abilities to unify data, AI models, and key business processes for smarter strategic decision-making.

As part of the integration, Dr. Marc Warner steps into the role of Chief Technology Officer at Accenture. His track record in AI advancement and safety is expected to shape Accenture’s global technological roadmap and further drive innovation across sectors. Warner stated, “For companies that aren’t already ‘AI-native,’ the journey to transformation demands both deep technical expertise and the scale to deliver lasting impact.”

The deal will see more than 400 Faculty staff — including a large contingent of highly qualified data scientists and AI engineers — joining Accenture. This influx of expertise will help accelerate the rollout of secure, responsible, and outcome-driven AI solutions for organizations worldwide. Both companies have already partnered to support life sciences companies in streamlining clinical trials and operational efficiency, with industry leaders like Novartis benefiting from their collaboration.

The acquisition comes at a pivotal time for Accenture, as it continues to restructure its services and invest in digital and AI innovation amid shifting market dynamics. Industry analysts maintain positive expectations for Accenture’s outlook, noting the company is well-positioned for potential revenue growth, even amid ongoing pressure on tech sector valuations.

The addition of Faculty further enhances Accenture’s focus on safe, scalable AI, particularly in the face of growing regulatory scrutiny and the need for ethical deployment of advanced technologies.

For clients, the combined expertise of Accenture and Faculty promises improved support for digital transformation, greater operational agility, and robust AI adoption across key sectors. The strengthened portfolio aims to accelerate clients’ journeys to becoming more data-driven and competitive in an increasingly AI-centric world.

The terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed, but Accenture asserts that the move is a crucial milestone toward securing its role as a global reinvention partner of choice.
