Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a resounding message to an international symposium on China’s neighborhood diplomacy, emphasizing the country’s dedication to fostering peaceful, harmonious, and prosperous relations with its neighbors. The symposium, titled “Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness: New Dimensions, New Progress, and New Vision,” marked the 10th anniversary of the guiding principle in China’s neighborhood diplomacy.

In his message, President Xi reaffirmed China’s unwavering commitment to the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. He stressed that China would continue working collaboratively with other nations in the region to create an Asian homeland characterized by peace, tranquility, prosperity, beauty, and friendly coexistence.

“We are determined to jointly write a new chapter in promoting the building of a community with a shared future for Asia and for humanity,” President Xi stated.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the fundamental policy of China’s neighborhood diplomacy is to pursue friendship and partnership with its neighboring countries while striving to build an amicable, secure, and prosperous neighborhood. This policy places a strong emphasis on the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness.

Over the past decade, China has actively implemented these principles and developed friendly and cooperative relations with its neighbors in a comprehensive manner. This approach has resulted in the continuous enhancement of political mutual trust and the deepening of shared interests. President Xi noted that these efforts have paved the way for robust and mutually beneficial cooperation and good-neighborly friendships.

In the new era, President Xi emphasized China’s intent to infuse new meaning into the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. He outlined China’s aspiration to promote Asian values such as peace, cooperation, inclusiveness, and integration. President Xi also highlighted the significance of providing fresh momentum to regional unity, openness, and progress.

“We will promote new developments in the concepts of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness to ensure that Chinese modernization brings even greater benefits to our neighbors,” President Xi affirmed. He added that China is committed to working jointly with its Asian neighbors to advance the modernization process and to ensure that China’s high-quality development and a sound neighborhood environment reinforce and complement each other.

The international symposium, which brought together diplomatic representatives and scholars, provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the guiding principles of China’s neighborhood diplomacy and the way forward in building strong, cooperative relations with neighboring nations.
