In a recent endeavor to deepen international cooperation in the field of senior care, a delegation representing the Chinese senior care industry was invited to visit the Netherlands. This significant initiative was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Beijing, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Shanghai, and the Task Force Health Care. The exchange visit aimed to foster a robust dialogue on global challenges in the senior care sector and explore possibilities for mutual solutions.
The delegation included representatives from a diverse spectrum of sectors involved in senior care in China. This included commercial companies focused on delivering senior care services, research institutes dedicated to the study of aging and elder care, and nursing and day care organizations. The representatives hailed from major Chinese cities including Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai. Wang Sheng, a member of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands, also participated in the event, further underscoring the importance of the visit.
During their visit, the delegation toured various senior care organizations operating in the Netherlands. In addition to the site visits, the delegation had the opportunity to engage in in-depth exchanges with Vilans, the national think tank dedicated to long-term care in the Netherlands. They also visited the University of Groningen, a leading institution renowned for its contributions to research in multiple disciplines, including senior care.
A significant part of the delegation’s itinerary involved interactions with representatives from the Dutch business community engaged in senior care services and technology products. They also met with representatives from the scientific research and development industry in the senior care field. These exchanges facilitated a shared understanding of the challenges faced in the sector and offered a platform to explore opportunities for collaborative initiatives.
