In a thrilling display of equine prowess at Sha Tin‘s prestigious race meeting, trainer Pierre Ng Pang-chi extended his extraordinary winning streak, contributing to a day dominated by local training talent. Galaxy Patch and Taj Dragon, both trained by Ng, delivered exceptional performances in their respective races, underscoring Ng’s exceptional skill in preparing racehorses.

Galaxy Patch, a four-year-old showing great potential, demonstrated his class in the Class Three Lord Kanaloa Handicap (1,200m). Ridden by jockey Karis Teetan, Galaxy Patch surged ahead with ease, securing a decisive win and proving himself as a horse to watch. Trainer Ng praised the horse’s abilities and acknowledged his sometimes challenging temperament, highlighting the care taken in his training.

Following Galaxy Patch’s success, Ng’s Taj Dragon clinched a victory in the Class Two Highland Reel Handicap (1,400m). Under Andrea Atzeni’s guidance, Taj Dragon showcased a powerful finish, narrowly defeating Dancing Code in a tense finish. Ng’s strategic planning and Atzeni’s skilled ride were pivotal in Taj Dragon’s triumph.

The day also saw other local trainers making their mark, with Ricky Yiu Poon-fai, Manfred Man Ka-leung, and Danny Shum Chap-shing each securing two wins. Shum, in particular, added to his accolades with Gorgeous Win’s emphatic victory in the Class Four Silent Witness Handicap (1,200m), validating Shum’s confidence in the promising horse.

Yiu’s successes came through Winning Data and C P Brave, the latter impressing in the Class Three Jim And Tonic Handicap (1,800m). Yiu’s astute training and strategic planning were evident in C P Brave’s commanding performance.

Man’s victories were highlighted by the stellar performance of Lucky Sweynesse in the Group One Hong Kong Sprint (1,200m) and Chiu Chow Spirit’s win in the Class Three Maurice Handicap (1,400m). These wins further cemented Man’s reputation as a trainer of top-caliber racehorses.

The day at Sha Tin was a celebration of Hong Kong’s horse racing excellence, showcasing the talents of local trainers and jockeys. The impressive performances across various races underscored the quality and depth of horse racing in the region, with trainers like Ng, Yiu, Man, and Shum leading the way in this prestigious sport.
