The game, which unfolded at Shandong’s home ground, showcased tactical prowess and effective in-game adjustments by both teams.

Shandong’s coach Choi Kang-hee strategically made three changes at half-time, including bringing in Brazilian attacker Cryzan Barcelos for Zheng Zheng. Incheon United also made a pivotal substitution, with Hernandes Rodrigues replacing Stefan Mugosa.

The second half saw Shandong seizing control of the game. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Li capitalized on a mishandled cross from Liu Binbin by Kim Dong-heon, putting Shandong ahead. Incheon United’s challenge grew steeper in the 65th minute as Kwon Han-jin inadvertently scored an own goal, widening Shandong’s lead and putting Incheon in a precarious position.

Shandong’s dominance continued, and they were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute after Hong Si-hoo committed a foul inside the box. Cryzan confidently converted the penalty, solidifying Shandong’s lead and effectively sealing the game.

Incheon United managed to score a consolation goal in the final moments through Kim Do-hyeok, but it was too little too late to alter the outcome of the match.
