The China National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO) is set to enthrall music enthusiasts in 2024 with its newly announced concert season. These include the 200th anniversary of symphonic titan Anton Bruckner’s birth, the 160th anniversary of Richard Strauss’s birth, the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death, and the 175th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s death. Fans of classical music will be treated to an array of major works and high-quality performances commemorating these iconic composers.

The season will open with a bang on January 14, 2024, at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. The opening concert, titled ‘Footsteps of Giants,’ will feature conductor Shui Lan and baritone Liao Changyong. Another highlight is the ‘Romantic Colors’ concert scheduled for January 27, 2024, celebrating Bruckner’s bicentenary. This performance will bring together conductor David Hoose and cellist Lee Youngeun.
In another cultural milestone, the First Silk Road International Theater Alliance Investment Conference recently took place in Hainan Province’s Haikou and Dongfang. This event marks a significant step in promoting international collaboration in the performing arts sector.
The conference hosted over 60 guests, experts, and representatives from both domestic and international theater and performance institutions.
