This film is a testament to the enduring legacy of Zheng’s storytelling, which has been a cherished part of childhood for generations in China.

The journey of Shuke and Beita began in 1989 with an animated series that quickly became a national sensation. The series etched itself into the memories of many, becoming an integral part of their childhood. In 2019, a new online version of “Shuke and Beita” premiered, garnering immense popularity with over 4.5 billion views. Zheng’s fairy tales, especially the characters Shuke and Beita, hold a special place in the hearts of Chinese audiences. The author describes these characters as his “own ID,” embedding them with a resilient spirit that resists injustice and portrays confidence, bravery, and adherence to justice in a pure and profound manner.

At the film’s premiere, Zheng Yuanjie shared insights into his success. He emphasized the importance of excellent moral qualities as the key to success in life. He also noted that Shuke and Beita first met audiences on December 30, 1983, making December 30, 2023, the 40th anniversary of these beloved characters.

“Shuke Beita: Pentagon Flying Saucer” narrates the adventures of Shuke and Beita, who, after acquiring the water of life, invent a new machine called the Pentagon Flying Saucer. In an unexpected turn during a test flight, the duo travels ten years into the future to Cube City. There, they discover that their diligently built airline company has been ruined by a group of mischievous mice.
