The recognition seemed surreal to the 45-year-old actor, who humorously described his initial reaction as a “complete blackout” moment. “Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” he shared with People, admitting he never imagined he’d be chosen. Known widely for his portrayal of the lovable, sarcastic Jim Halpert in the long-running television series The Office, Krasinski has since built an impressive career as both an actor and director.
Krasinski’s immediate impulse was to share the news with his wife, actress Emily Blunt, who has been his partner for 14 years. Blunt was thrilled to hear the update, joking that she would cover their home’s walls with the magazine cover if he officially received the honor. For Krasinski, his family is his proudest accomplishment, despite his many professional achievements. The couple lives happily in Brooklyn with their two daughters, Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8.
