Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre: The Brand’s Most Powerful Model

LifestyleRolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre: The Brand’s Most Powerful Model

The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre is now the most powerful vehicle in the brand’s history, boasting an impressive 650bhp (485kW) and 1,075Nm (793lb/ft) of torque. This increased performance allows the luxury electric vehicle to accelerate from 0-60mph (0-96km/h) in just 4.1 seconds, marking a significant upgrade from the standard Spectre, which offers 577bhp and 900Nm of torque.

True to Rolls-Royce tradition, the Black Badge Spectre features several design and performance elements that nod to the brand’s illustrious past. One of the standout features is the new Infinity Mode, inspired by a switch found on the throttle of a Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane. This feature allows the driver to unlock the full potential of the Spectre’s electric motors with the push of a button on the steering wheel, which also triggers a change in the dashboard dials to signify the mode switch.

Another new addition is the Spirited Mode, offering a burst of intense, instantaneous acceleration. This mode is activated when the driver simultaneously presses the brake and throttle, which prompts a visual cue to indicate the car is ready. Once the brake is released, the Spectre delivers maximum torque and performance for a thrilling driving experience.

To complement the increased performance, the Black Badge Spectre also features a more dynamic driving experience, with modifications to the steering weight and roll stabilisation. These adjustments help reduce body roll and ensure the vehicle maintains its composure during sharp turns and aggressive maneuvers. Additionally, the dampers have been fine-tuned to prevent the car from “squatting” during heavy acceleration or braking.

The Black Badge Spectre is finished in a special “Vapour Violet” color, and it comes equipped with striking 23-inch five-spoke forged aluminium wheels. In keeping with the Black Badge aesthetic, the car’s brightwork is finished in a more subdued dark tone, applied to the grille surround, door handles, and the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy mounted on the bonnet.

Priced at HK$3.43 million (US$490,000) in Hong Kong, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre offers a combination of unrivaled performance, luxury, and design, making it a truly exceptional addition to the brand’s lineup.
