Aion, the popular Chinese electric carmaker, has unveiled its latest and most affordable addition to the Y family, the Y Younger. Sporting a sleek and sporty design, the Y Younger features wing-shaped headlights and measures 4,535 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Powered by a single e-motor, the Y Younger delivers a maximum output of 100 kW and a top torque of 176 Nm, thanks to its 51.9 kWh battery pack which enables the vehicle to travel for up to 430 km on a single charge.

As analysts predict that the Y Younger will attract more young car buyers, it is expected to give gasoline models a run for their money in the world’s largest vehicle market – China. Aion, which is one of the best-selling Chinese electric car brands, has already seen a significant surge in sales, with 30,086 vehicles sold in February, up 253 percent year-on-year. In the first two months of the year, the brand’s deliveries totaled 40,292 units, up 64 percent year-on-year.

According to the China Passenger Car Association, new energy vehicle sales in China are expected to reach 500,000 units in February, up 60 percent year-on-year, indicating a strong demand for electric vehicles in the market. With the launch of the Y Younger, Aion is expected to continue its upward trend in sales, providing more eco-friendly options for consumers in China and beyond.
