Lufthansa announced on Wednesday that it will cancel overnight flights to and from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport through Monday, citing the evolving security situation in the Middle East amid reports of a potential US military strike on Iran.
A spokesperson for the German airline said the Lufthansa Group is closely tracking developments and will reassess operations in the coming days.
Under the updated schedule, Lufthansa and its partner airlines SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings will continue serving Tel Aviv but only with daytime flights from Thursday, Jan. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 19.
The airline said the adjustment is designed to ensure crews can return to their home bases without staying overnight in Israel. As a result, some services may be canceled during the period.
Passengers impacted by the changes will be automatically rebooked onto alternative flights and notified in advance. Travelers also have the option to reschedule their trips to a later date.
Lufthansa stressed that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority. Meanwhile, the Israel Airports Authority said airport operations are continuing normally, but urged travelers to follow updates from their airlines as the situation develops.
