Elon Musk Makes Massive $10 Million Donation to Nate Morris’s Kentucky Senate Campaign

WorldAmericaElon Musk Makes Massive $10 Million Donation to Nate Morris's Kentucky Senate Campaign

Tech mogul Elon Musk has injected a significant $10 million into the Kentucky Senate race, backing Republican candidate Nate Morris. This substantial contribution marks Musk’s largest single donation to a Senate candidate and signals his renewed engagement in the Republican party’s efforts to maintain congressional majorities in the 2026 midterms.

The substantial donation went to the Fight for Kentucky super PAC, a group supporting Morris, a businessman and political outsider running in the Republican primary to succeed retiring Senator Mitch McConnell. This move by Musk is seen as a formidable weapon for Republicans in the expensive battle to retain their congressional majorities.

After a public falling out with former President Donald Trump and even threatening to start a third party, Musk appears to be firmly back in the GOP camp. This follows a period where he had been critical of the Republican Party. His recent contributions also include significant donations to pro-House and Senate GOP super PACs, indicating a broader strategy to influence the upcoming elections.

Sources familiar with the situation suggest Musk was impressed by Morris’s business background and his anti-establishment message. Morris, a ninth-generation Kentuckian, has positioned himself as an opponent of the Republican establishment, specifically targeting Senator McConnell. Morris, the founder of Rubicon, a waste and recycling company, launched his campaign with an “America First” platform and has garnered support from other MAGA-aligned figures.

Morris is competing in a crowded Republican primary field that includes Representative Andy Barr and former state Attorney General Daniel Cameron. While Trump has not yet endorsed in the race, Republicans are generally favored to retain the seat. The primary election is scheduled for May 19.
