Agileo Automation has launched Agil’EDA, a new software solution designed to accelerate the adoption of SEMI Equipment Data Acquisition (EDA) standards for semiconductor equipment Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This innovative tool addresses the increasing demand from tier-one fabs and advanced packaging facilities for high-performance connectivity, ensuring seamless data flow without disrupting critical equipment operations.
As the semiconductor industry moves towards greater automation and data-driven optimization, fab owners are increasingly requiring EDA connectivity alongside traditional SECS/GEM standards from OEMs. Agil’EDA directly addresses this need by providing a robust solution that separates equipment control from data acquisition. This ensures that high-frequency data collection does not interfere with essential equipment operations, a critical factor in maintaining production efficiency.
Designed for long-term deployment, Agil’EDA fully supports the widely adopted EDA Freeze 2 standard, utilizing SOAP/XML. Crucially, it is architected to facilitate a smooth transition to the upcoming EDA Freeze 3 standard, which is expected in mid-2026 and promises significantly higher data throughput and lower latency. Agileo has already successfully tested its Freeze 3 implementation at SEMI Standards Meetings.
Agil’EDA incorporates robust cybersecurity features, including encrypted communications and authentication protocols, to protect sensitive data. The solution offers flexibility for OEMs, available as a standalone product for integration with existing equipment software or as a pre-integrated component within Agileo’s comprehensive A²ECF-SEMI framework. When combined with Agil’GEM and Agil’GEM300, Agil’EDA provides a complete connectivity solution that can significantly reduce time-to-market for OEMs.
