At least 10 people were killed in Ukrainian drone attacks on targets across Russia and Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine on Saturday, Russian officials said, including a strike on a warehouse owned by online retailer Ozon.
The attacks hit an industrial facility and the logistics site of Ozon, Russia’s second-largest online retailer. It was the first reported strike on the company. Ukraine views the retail and logistics sector as part of the economic infrastructure sustaining Russia’s war effort.
Russia and Ukraine have both widened their drone campaigns in recent months, aiming at each other’s economic infrastructure and hitting sites far behind the front lines. The fighting is grinding towards the four-and-a-half-year mark with no ceasefire in place.
The Ozon strike follows earlier Ukrainian attacks on Russian retail and logistics targets, including drone raids that damaged warehouses run by the retailer Wildberries. Kyiv has also targeted grain terminals and fuel infrastructure in an effort to disrupt Russian commerce.
The exchanges have run in both directions. Russian forces have kept up their own long-range strikes on Ukrainian cities and energy facilities, with recent barrages causing civilian casualties in the Kyiv region.
The full extent of the damage to the Ozon site and the industrial facility was not immediately clear. Russian officials reported the casualty figures across the multiple targets struck on Saturday.
Neither side has moved closer to a negotiated halt. Both militaries continue to expand drone production and reach, treating supply chains, ports and factories as legitimate wartime targets.
