Tesla Launches Retro-Futuristic Diner Supercharger Station in Los Angeles

BusinessTesla Launches Retro-Futuristic Diner Supercharger Station in Los Angeles

Tesla has officially opened its first-ever diner-themed Supercharger station in Los Angeles, bringing to life a concept CEO Elon Musk first hinted at in 2018. The new two-story venue combines retro Americana with futuristic design elements, featuring a striking steel exterior inspired by Tesla’s Cybertruck.

The station includes 80 electric vehicle charging stalls, making it one of the largest Tesla charging hubs. Alongside charging, visitors can enjoy classic American comfort food in a 24/7 diner setting. The menu includes favorites like burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and milkshakes, serving both Tesla drivers and the general public.

Adding to the unique atmosphere, the diner features two massive 66-foot megascreens that continuously play a curated mix of short films, feature-length movies, and Tesla-related content. This blend of entertainment and functionality creates a one-of-a-kind destination that appeals to both EV enthusiasts and casual visitors.

Early guests praised the station’s design and dining experience. One patron noted the space’s “vintage vibe, but futuristic vibe at the same time,” highlighting the diner’s successful fusion of past and future aesthetics. Another visitor said the station would be a memorable stop for friends visiting from out of town.

A playful addition to the opening was the presence of Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot, which entertained guests by serving popcorn and engaging in lighthearted interactions. The popularity of the new spot was evident as the food ordering line quickly stretched around the block less than 24 hours after opening.

The diner Supercharger station represents Tesla’s effort to elevate the EV charging experience beyond functionality, turning it into a social and cultural destination. If the Los Angeles location proves successful, CEO Elon Musk has indicated plans to replicate the concept in other major cities across the country.

This new venture showcases Tesla’s innovative approach to integrating lifestyle elements with its technology, aiming to make EV ownership more appealing and enjoyable. By combining a nostalgic diner atmosphere with cutting-edge electric vehicle charging infrastructure, Tesla is redefining what a charging station can be.
