BusinessAutomotiveNIO Accelerates Growth with Strong February Deliveries and Battery Swap Milestones

Electric vehicle manufacturer NIO has announced a significant surge in its February 2026 deliveries, reporting a 57.6% year-over-year increase. This robust performance, coupled with a major milestone in battery swap services, underscores NIO’s continued expansion and strong market presence in the competitive premium new energy vehicle sector.

NIO announced that it delivered a total of 20,797 vehicles in February 2026. This figure represents a substantial 57.6% year-on-year growth, indicating a strong recovery and sustained momentum for the company. The year-to-date deliveries for 2026 reached 47,979 vehicles, marking an impressive 77.3% increase over the same period last year. As of February 28, 2026, NIO’s cumulative deliveries have now exceeded 1,045,571 units.

The February deliveries were distributed across NIO’s diverse brand portfolio. The premium NIO brand accounted for 15,159 vehicles, while the family-oriented ONVO brand contributed 2,981 units, and the small, high-end FIREFLY brand added 2,657 vehicles. This balanced delivery performance across its brands highlights NIO’s strategy to cater to various market segments.

Beyond vehicle sales, NIO’s innovative energy infrastructure also saw significant achievements in February. On February 6, 2026, the company’s cumulative battery swap services surpassed the 100 million mark. This milestone validates the scalability and efficiency of NIO’s unique battery-swapping model, positioning it as a mainstream energy solution for electric vehicles in China.

During the recent Chinese New Year travel period, NIO’s battery swap stations experienced record-breaking demand. Daily battery swap volumes reached new highs for five consecutive days, demonstrating strong user reliance on the service, especially during peak travel times. NIO’s extensive highway charging and battery swapping network provided over 25.28 million kWh of electricity during this period, accounting for 15% of the total energy supplied on China’s expressways.

NIO’s All-New ES8 SUV continues to be a strong performer, with the 70,000th unit delivered in late February, just 160 days after its launch. This consistent demand for the full-size, three-row electric SUV reflects its appeal in the premium family segment.

In parallel with its operational growth, NIO is also bolstering its technological capabilities. Its chip subsidiary, Anhui Shenji Technology Co., Ltd., secured over 2.2 billion yuan in its first round of external equity financing, valuing the company at nearly 10 billion yuan post-investment. These funds are earmarked for the development and commercialization of high-end automotive chips, supporting NIO’s long-term vision in autonomous driving and integrated semiconductor solutions.
