Head of CPC Publicity Department calls for focus on protecting minors in fight against illegal content

ChinaHealthHead of CPC Publicity Department calls for focus on protecting minors in fight against illegal content

During a teleconference held recently, Li Shulei – a prominent member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee – made a call for increased efforts to crack down on pornography and illegal publications, in order to maintain a healthy cultural environment in the country.

Li stressed the vital importance of this fight against pornography and illegal publications, stating that it holds special significance on the new journey that China is undertaking. The country has been going through a period of significant transformation and development, and Li noted that it is crucial for the government to focus on ensuring that its citizens have access to high-quality cultural content that aligns with their aspirations and the country’s ideology.

In line with this, Li required that all efforts be made to meet people’s cultural aspirations and to safeguard the country’s ideological security. He also highlighted the need for the work to be closely related to people’s concerns, with a particular focus on protecting minors.

As head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Li is responsible for leading the party’s efforts in controlling and regulating the dissemination of information in the country. Under his leadership, the department has taken various measures to curb the spread of illegal publications and pornography, including tightening regulations on online content and conducting regular inspections of publishers and distributors.

Li’s recent call for increased efforts to crack down on pornography and illegal publications is therefore in line with the CPC’s broader efforts to promote a healthy cultural environment in the country. Through these efforts, the government hopes to ensure that its citizens have access to quality cultural content that reflects the country’s values and ideals, and that helps to foster a strong sense of national identity and pride.
