CultureArt2023 China Digital Art Industry Forum: Bridging Digital Art and Cultural Tourism

The 2023 China Digital Art Industry Forum recently held in Chongqing has become a pivotal event for discussing the integration of digital art with the cultural tourism sector. This forum provided a unique platform for in-depth dialogues, aiming to explore the synergies between these two dynamic fields.

Structured with a main conference, two sub-forums, and an online TAB forum, the event attracted over 30 experts and scholars. These participants came from diverse backgrounds, including government, academia, cultural institutions, and various enterprises. The forum also saw representation from over 150 entities, highlighting its significance and broad appeal across multiple sectors.

Wang Boqiao, the founder of Digital Art China, offered a forward-looking perspective at the forum. He anticipated that within the next five years, digital art would see a profound integration with several key sectors. These include cultural tourism, the cultural and museum industries, new consumer trends, and technological industries. Wang’s prediction sees this convergence leading to the emergence of a trillion-dollar industry, with a focus on spiritual consumption as its core.

Wang’s vision for the future is one where every city will develop a new cultural landmark that marries art and technology. He stressed the need for creating regionally distinctive digital art exhibitions. Such exhibitions would blend historical and cultural elements with digital art, providing a unique and immersive way to tell urban stories and preserve cultural heritage.

Artist Yang Xiaoyang, who participated in a sub-forum, highlighted the unprecedented creative opportunities that digital art presents. According to Yang, the intellectual property (IP) associated with digital art will play a crucial role in empowering the new economy. This, in turn, provides fresh momentum for a variety of industries, fostering innovation and development in both cultural and physical economies.

The 2023 China Digital Art Industry Forum stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of digital art and its growing influence in cultural tourism and beyond. The discussions and insights shared at this forum point towards a future where digital art not only enhances cultural experiences but also drives economic growth and innovation.

As digital art continues to expand its reach and impact, the predictions and ideas presented at the forum offer a glimpse into the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. The intersection of digital art with cultural tourism and other industries is poised to create unique experiences, foster deeper cultural understanding, and open up new economic opportunities.
