Bridgerton Fans Anticipate Fourth Season Announcement Soon

CultureFilm & TvBridgerton Fans Anticipate Fourth Season Announcement Soon

Fans of the hit Netflix show “Bridgerton” can look forward to news of its fourth season soon, as the series’ writer and showrunner, Jess Brownell, hinted at an upcoming announcement. The third season’s final four episodes began streaming on Thursday, concluding the eagerly awaited friends-to-lovers storyline between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.

Brownell, who took over from series creator Chris Van Dusen for the third season, expressed her excitement about the current season’s success. “We want to give a few months for Pen and Colin to have their moment and enjoy their glory,” she said. However, fans won’t have to wait too long for updates on the next season. “We will be making an announcement about the next season sooner rather than later,” Brownell added.

The Regency-era romance series, based on Julia Quinn’s books, focuses on the Bridgerton family siblings. The third season diverged from the book series by skipping the third book about Benedict Bridgerton, instead highlighting Colin and Penelope’s story. As development on the fourth season progresses, the leading sibling for the new storyline remains a mystery. “I can tell you that it is going to be extremely juicy,” Brownell teased at the launch of the second part of the third season in London.

Reflecting on her experience, Brownell shared, “I think as a writer you sharpen your skills every season. And as a showrunner, I feel like I learned on the job a lot this season, but now I’m really just enjoying myself and playing around and having a good time.”

“Bridgerton,” developed by Shonda Rhimes’ production company Shondaland and Netflix, is set in the early 1800s. The series captures the scandals and successes of the social season as young, marriageable members of the nobility search for love. Rhimes, known for creating shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice,” and “Scandal,” remains committed to the series’ longevity.

“We’re very dedicated and we have eight books. It was always my intention. We have eight siblings, eight books, eight seasons. That’s been my hope forever,” Rhimes stated. This commitment reassures fans that the series will continue to explore each Bridgerton sibling’s story, maintaining the charm and intrigue that has captivated audiences worldwide.

As anticipation builds for the fourth season, “Bridgerton” continues to enchant viewers with its blend of romance, drama, and Regency-era splendor. Fans can look forward to more updates and the promise of new, captivating storylines in the near future.
