Clever Chinese Girl Tricks Parents with Dummy to Avoid Studying

LifestyleClever Chinese Girl Tricks Parents with Dummy to Avoid Studying

A clever young girl in China recently caught the attention of netizens for her creative attempt to avoid studying. The unnamed daughter from Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, used her resourcefulness to create a dummy out of her clothes to replace herself while she snuck off to play nearby. The story was shared by her parents in a video posted on February 8, which quickly gained widespread attention on a popular Chinese social media platform.

In the video, the dummy, dressed in a yellow cotton jacket and wearing a hat, is seen sitting upright in a chair in the bedroom, giving the impression of a person hard at work studying. Meanwhile, the daughter is hiding close by, playing and enjoying her time away from her homework. When her parents discovered the sneaky trick, the girl denied her actions, insisting that she was still studying. Her family members couldn’t help but laugh at the situation as they gathered around her. The mother humorously shared the incident in the post, saying, “Those above have policies, while those below have their own countermeasures. I asked her to study, and she put a dummy there.”

The mother later recounted how she grew suspicious when there was an unusual silence in the room after the girl had been studying for a while. Thinking her daughter might have fallen asleep, she quietly entered the room, only to realize that the figure sitting in the chair was a fake. The mother described her feelings as a mixture of anger and amusement, adding, “When I saw it, I was both angry and amused. I was just speechless.” Despite the deception, she didn’t scold her daughter but instead gave her a punishment in the form of an essay to write.

In China, the pressure surrounding the highly competitive college entrance exams often leads to an overwhelming amount of homework. As a result, some children resort to mischievous tactics to avoid the academic load. The girl’s quick thinking and creativity have earned her praise from Chinese netizens, many of whom were impressed by her ingenuity. One person commented, “This is what is called the technique of appearing in two places at the same time. This kid is a genius.” Others suggested her talents could be used for more unconventional purposes, like military training for stealth and disguise. While some joked about her potential, others humorously noted, “If only she could apply the same amount of energy to her studies.”
