Luke Ferraris Seeks Continued Success at Happy Valley with Tourbillon Prince and Togepi

SportsLuke Ferraris Seeks Continued Success at Happy Valley with Tourbillon Prince and Togepi

Rising star jockey Luke Ferraris, who recently celebrated his 22nd birthday, is looking to maintain his winning streak at Happy Valley’s upcoming race meeting. With seven promising rides lined up, Ferraris is particularly focused on achieving success with last-start winners Tourbillon Prince and Togepi.

Tourbillon Prince, trained by Benno Yung Tin-pang, is set to compete in the Class Three Pak Tam Au Handicap (1,650m). After securing his first win in Hong Kong earlier this month, the horse is in prime form for another course-and-distance victory. Ferraris, confident in Tourbillon Prince’s abilities, believes a smooth run could lead to a repeat of their previous win. With two Australian wins under its belt, Tourbillon Prince showed promise in its recent Hong Kong victory under jockey Zac Purton.

Purton, who opted to ride Silver Sonic this time, left Ferraris an opportunity to demonstrate his front-running skills with Tourbillon Prince. Renowned for his bold riding style, Ferraris plans to leverage the horse’s early speed for a tactical advantage. The duo faces stiff competition from rivals like Silver Sonic and Quantum Patch, who have shown form in recent races.

Ferraris, one of the youngest jockeys in Hong Kong, has already marked 15 wins this season. He is keen to surpass his previous best of 35 victories, indicating his growing influence in the Hong Kong racing scene.

Togepi, trained by Cody Mo Wai-kit, is another hopeful for Ferraris in the first section of the Class Four Pat Sin Leng Handicap (1,200m). Ferraris previously guided Togepi to a narrow victory, showcasing the horse’s potential as a strong sprinter. Despite carrying a significant weight of 135 pounds, Ferraris believes Togepi’s resilience could lead to another successful run.

Ferraris’ strategy with Togepi will be crucial, given the horse’s smaller stature and the challenge of the added weight. Aiming for Togepi’s third win in 16 starts, Ferraris will need to navigate the field skillfully to secure a favorable position and repeat their previous triumph.

As Ferraris heads into the race meeting at Happy Valley, his growing reputation and recent successes position him as a jockey to watch. His ability to bring out the best in his mounts, combined with tactical acumen, could see him add more victories to his already impressive season tally.
