Morrissey’s concert in Hong Kong was highly anticipated, scheduled to be held at AsiaWorld-Expo Hong Kong in Lantau on November 16. This would have been his first performance in Hong Kong since his 2016 sell-out show at MacPherson Stadium in Mong Kok, which still lingers in the memories of many fans. The tour was also set to make a stop at Samyan Mitrtown in Bangkok on November 18.
However, the sudden cancellation of these shows has been attributed to “unforeseeable technical difficulties,” as stated on the AsiaWorld-Expo Hong Kong’s website. The organizers extended their apologies for the unexpected change and the inconvenience it may have caused to those who had been looking forward to the events. As of now, tickets for Morrissey’s November 28 concert in Tokyo are still available for purchase, with no indications of changes to this schedule.

Big-name musicians like Taylor Swift and Coldplay have also excluded Hong Kong from their recent tours, further dampening the spirits of the local concert-going community.
