RadNet, a leading U.S. provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging services, has announced the acquisition of Gleamer SAS, a prominent French radiology AI company. The deal, valued at up to $270 million, aims to significantly expand RadNet’s AI-powered health informatics capabilities through its subsidiary, DeepHealth, positioning it as a global leader in the field.
Gleamer, a fast-growing, cloud-first company based in Paris, France, brings a robust portfolio of FDA-cleared and CE-marked AI and workflow solutions. These solutions span various applications, including musculoskeletal, breast, lung, and neurological conditions. By integrating Gleamer’s offerings with DeepHealth’s existing suites for breast, neuro, prostate, and thyroid care, RadNet anticipates creating a comprehensive AI portfolio that is unparalleled in the radiology AI market.
This combined portfolio is designed to support the entire diagnostic pathway, from screening and detection to interpretation and follow-up, across numerous prevalent cancer types and other conditions like neurodegenerative and musculoskeletal disorders. RadNet believes this integration will establish DeepHealth as the worldwide leader in clinical AI solutions across multiple imaging modalities, including MR, CT, X-ray, mammography, and ultrasound.
RadNet plans to deploy Gleamer’s AI and workflow capabilities across its extensive network of imaging centers. This strategic move is expected to yield significant productivity gains, especially in X-ray imaging, which constitutes a substantial portion of RadNet’s imaging volume. The company aims to implement an end-to-end AI-enabled workflow that prioritizes critical findings, accelerating the interpretation of urgent cases. Furthermore, the acquisition is anticipated to expedite the introduction of draft reporting capabilities, enabling radiologists to increase their reading volume with enhanced accuracy and standardization, thereby optimizing resource utilization and improving operational efficiencies.
Company officials highlighted the critical need for such advancements given the rising imaging volumes and the accelerating shortage of radiologists worldwide. The integration of Gleamer is seen as a key step in reengineering high-volume workflows to sustain access, efficiency, and quality of care. Gleamer’s CEO, Christian Allouche, expressed enthusiasm for the new chapter, stating that the combined entity is poised to shape the future of intelligent imaging at scale.
The acquisition, valued at up to approximately $269.3 million (€230 million), includes a post-closing milestone. This strategic move marks RadNet’s continued investment in AI technology, following previous acquisitions. Gleamer, with over 130 professionals, serves more than 700 customer contracts in 44 countries. The company projects significant annual recurring revenue growth, with expectations to reach approximately $30 million ARR in 2026. Following the announcement, RadNet’s shares saw an increase in premarket trading, reflecting positive market reception to the deal.
