At the heart of the festival’s opening was the play “The Taste of Life,” which garnered an overwhelming response from the audience. This emotionally charged play depicts the reunion of a family divided for over 70 years across the Taiwan Straits, a narrative that resonates deeply with the audience’s sense of history and cultural identity. Tang Lihua, the deputy head of the drama troupe of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, as well as the producer and lead actor of the play, expressed profound honor in participating in the opening of the National Drama Festival 2023.
