“So Long For Love,” a touching new movie by Chinese director Wang Xiaolie, is set to make its debut in cinemas nationwide this Friday. The film, featuring an impressive cast including Yan Ni, Tan Songyun, and Wu Jing, is expected to tug at the heartstrings of audiences with its poignant narrative of a family’s journey through grief and healing.

The movie is an adaptation of Wang Xiaolie’s novel by the same name and delves into the emotional turmoil of a family grappling with the loss of a loved one. It centers around the lives of Pan Yanqiu, played by Yan Ni, her daughter, portrayed by Tan Songyun, and their journey towards healing, accompanied by their loyal dog, Kele. In discussing the inspiration for the film, director Wang Xiaolie shared his hope that the movie would prompt viewers to reflect on their relationships with loved ones. Yan Ni, who brings to life the character of Pan Yanqiu, connected deeply with her role, finding parallels between her own life and that of her character. Wu Jing, portraying the father Li Boyu, expressed his appreciation for being part of such a heartwarming story.
