The 2025 BRIT Awards nominations have been announced, with Charli XCX leading the pack, receiving five nods, including Artist of the Year, Dance Act, and Pop Act. Her hit single Guess, featuring Billie Eilish, is in the running for Song of the Year, while her album Brat competes for Album of the Year.
Brat became a cultural sensation in 2024, inspiring fans to film themselves dancing to its tracks. The album’s lime green aesthetic even caught the attention of U.S. presidential hopeful Kamala Harris, whose campaign embraced its bold look after Charli XCX mentioned her in a social media post.
Competing against Brat for Album of the Year are Dua Lipa with Radical Optimism, Ezra Collective with Dance, No One’s Watching, and The Last Dinner Party with Prelude to Ecstasy. The Cure also joins the category with Songs of a Lost World, marking their first BRITs nomination since 1993. The band, who topped the UK charts with the album—their first in 16 years—also received nominations for Group of the Year and Best Alternative/Rock Act.
A historic moment came with The Beatles’ first BRIT Awards nomination since 1977. Their AI-enhanced track Now And Then—featuring John Lennon’s voice, recordings from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the late George Harrison—earned a spot in Song of the Year.
The awards ceremony, set for March 1 in London, continues to embrace gender-neutral categories. After backlash in 2023 for an all-male Artist of the Year list, the organizers doubled the number of nominees, ensuring a broader representation of talent.
Among those nominated for International Artist of the Year are Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish.
One winner has already been revealed—Myles Smith, the singer behind Stargazing, has secured the BRITs Rising Star award. He also picked up three additional nominations, solidifying his status as a rising force in the music industry.
With Charli XCX, The Beatles, and The Cure making history, the 2025 BRIT Awards promises to be a memorable celebration of music.
