Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, faced its fifth air assault from Russia this month, as reported by Ukrainian officials. The city’s air defenses successfully intercepted most of the 19 drones launched by Russia, targeting not only Kyiv but also other regions including Odesa and Kherson.
In a recent press briefing, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that the military has proposed mobilizing an additional 450,000 to 500,000 personnel, although this decision is yet to be finalized. This request emerges as Ukraine experiences challenges in securing aid from the U.S. and EU, compounded by intense military engagements and harsh winter conditions.
In a related development, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Beijing. The leaders discussed bilateral trade and expressed appreciation for their countries’ ongoing partnership amidst the global political climate.
