Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup Leapmotor has announced the start of pre-sales for its first range-extending SUV C11. The model, priced between 159,800 yuan ($23,531.57) to 200,000 yuan, is equipped with Leapmotor’s range extender, which works with the engine to reduce fuel consumption to 0.73 liters per 100 kilometers.
The C11 has an electric range of 285 km and a total range of 1,024 km, making it a practical option for long-distance journeys. The range-extending SUV has the same design language as its electric sibling, measuring 4,780 millimeters in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase reaching 2,930 mm.
Inside, the C11 offers an immersive audio experience with up to 12 speakers and six acoustic options. The car features massaging seats and a smart cabin powered by Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon chips and iFlyTek’s voice recognition system.
The model is also equipped with Leapmotor Pilot, which enables Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities and updates over the air. The SUV’s features and specifications make it a strong contender in the competitive Chinese EV market.
Leapmotor’s first range-extending SUV C11 is expected to hit the market soon and is likely to make a significant contribution to the Chinese EV market, which has been experiencing rapid growth in recent years. Leapmotor is one of the many Chinese EV startups that have emerged in the past few years, indicating the country’s growing interest in electric mobility.
