BusinessCanton Fair to Fully Resume Offline Activities this Spring with Over 30,000 Participating Enterprises

The Canton Fair, also known as the China Import and Export Fair, is set to resume all on-site activities in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5, after being held largely online due to COVID-19 prevention measures. The Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday that the event will continue to provide online services for participants, in addition to resuming offline activities. The fair has been held twice annually since 1957 and is an important event for businesses looking to buy or sell products in China.

As China has been dynamically optimizing and adjusting its COVID-19 prevention measures, Chinese and overseas enterprises are now eligible to participate in the fair offline. The exhibition area will be expanded from 1.18 million square meters to 1.5 million square meters this year, accommodating more than 30,000 Chinese and overseas enterprises. Among them, more than 5,000 leading manufacturing and high-tech Chinese enterprises are set to participate in the trade fair.

The Canton Fair is an opportunity for businesses from all over the world to showcase their products and connect with potential partners and customers. This year’s expanded event will provide even more opportunities for companies to network and showcase their products. While the online component of the fair was necessary due to the pandemic, the resumption of in-person activities signals a return to some degree of normalcy in the world of international trade.
