In a desperate attempt to find justice for his daughter, Sun Heli, a 45-year-old father from Henan province in central China, has offered a 10,000-yuan reward for information leading to the capture of three girls responsible for brutally assaulting his 14-year-old daughter. The attack, which occurred in the basement of a shopping mall, was a shocking and unprovoked act of violence that lasted for 20 minutes.
Sun’s daughter was alone in the mall when she was approached and attacked by the trio. The assailants, who were unknown to her, grabbed her by the neck and proceeded to beat her, causing significant injuries to her face and head. Initially, the young girl concealed the truth about her injuries from her father, claiming she had fallen, but later revealed the harrowing details of the attack after Sun encouraged her to speak out.
According to the victim, the girls had learned her name from schoolmates and deliberately tracked her down at the mall. They cornered her and dragged her to a secluded area in the basement, stating, “We don’t like you, so we came to beat you.” The assault included punching, kicking, slapping, and striking her head, leaving her with multiple injuries.
Outraged by the attack and frustrated with the police’s inability to locate the perpetrators, Sun turned to social media to seek help. His goal was not only to find the culprits and hold them accountable but also to prevent further attacks on other children. He expressed his desire for the attackers to apologize and face legal consequences for their actions.
The incident has sparked widespread anger and debate on social media platforms in mainland China. Netizens have shown support for Sun’s actions, empathizing with the victim and condemning the violence. Many agree that the bullies should face repercussions for their actions.
This case adds to the growing concern over bullying in China, highlighted by previous incidents, such as the March 2021 case where younger students at a boarding school were violently bullied by older peers. These cases often ignite intense discussions about the need for stronger measures to protect children from bullying and violence in schools and public places.
